Our chickens are fed a vegetarian diet fortified with flax seed and alfalfa which produces the omega-3 in the eggs. We believe in giving our chickens free run of the barn with straw lined nest boxes, free choice feed and oyster shell which keeps our chickens healthy and stress free. We hand pick our eggs, which are washed, graded and packed here at the farm.

This is a picture of our flock here at Oxyoke Farms. There are 300 birds in a room of about 1000 square feet. This works out to 3 square feet per bird, compared to 5 birds in 2 ½ square feet cages. There is an extra cost to having birds on the floor but it is a cost we gladly bear. We would like to thank you as the consumer for making the chose to support our method of traditional farming.
