      Second Delivery 07/21/2011

We are delivering to Calgary today. The vegetables looks so great and we are excited that everything looks so nice. This week we are sending Roman Lettuce, butter crunch lettuce, Leaf Lettuce, swish Chard and Bunching Onions.
Yesterday we weeded in the garden, everything is so much easier to pull  with the soil being so wet.  Dad started putting the rigging up for the bean climbers. As we were working in the garden we watched another storm build in the distance and about 4pm it started to hail and rain and we all made a mad dash for the vegetable room.  The warm weather helps the garden grow but I hope it stops bringing hail.
We have been working the beds where we have harvested for replanting. It is nice to see how we can utilize the beds more than once in a season.  I find you can always learn new things in the garden when working with my dad, and I hope I can absorb it all. The kids have been in the garden with us. Tyler helps as much as he can and Olivia and Dallas go and find all the mud puddles they can. It is so nice to be able to take the kids to work with me I love seeing them raised on the farm and in the dirt, but my children sure are dirty kids!!

Lovely salad greens: it was so nice to get the 'bonus bag' of mixed greens. We were very happy with our romaine and butter lettuces, and the green onions were minced into the best burgers ever. Looking forward to cooking up the swiss chard into dinnerwithjulie.com's "Swiss chard with chick peas and garlic" favorite (I sure do hope there will be lots more swiss chard!)

Good to see your garden did so well in 2011.

I bought a Berkshire Boar from you June 19, 2011 and was told he would be registered. As far as I know his papers were to be sent in just after we purchased him. I have buyers for Registered stock and we are awaiting 4 litters. I am hoping you can help me get this boar registered as soon as possible. I assumed the paperwork was completed in June but I haven't received anything from the Livestock Registry. Only our original pigs papers have arrived

We really enjoyed meeting you and seeing your farm ... loved the pups, and the ducks! What a huge garden area you have!

Sorry to hear that you are having some problems and best of luck with the 2013 Garden!!

      Thanks Patty Smith
